What is Sadie's Massage like?

Swedish - This is the most common type of massage in America and it's performed on a massage table and oil is used. A Swedish massage may include long strokes on back and limbs to increase circulation as well as kneading and compression. All licensed massage therapists are trained in Swedish massage to be licensed and this type of massage provides a good base for the addition of other massage modalities.

Deep Tissue and Injury/Pain Treatment - This usually is performed on a specific area of the body (i.e., back, shoulders, quadriceps, etc…) and specific muscles are located and massaged using direct pressure. The massage can be deep, but is very slow to allow the muscles to relax and loosen and it is never too deep where the client is past their pain tolerance. Communication is the key to a really good and effective deep tissue treatment massage.  If you've had deep tissue massage and didn't like it, this type might be better for you.

Traditional Thai Massage – Thai massage has been an ancient form of healing for over 2000 years. Thai massage is performed on a mat on the floor and the client is fully clothed in loose clothing. The therapist stretches the clients’ limbs and joints through gentle stretches, applies pressure along energy lines and massages muscles throughout the massage session. The therapist will use their hands, elbows, knees and feet to massage and apply pressure. Steamed Thai Herbal packs are also used to help relax muscles. Thai massage is relaxing (yet rejuvenating) and is a full body energy balancing experience.
